"Limehouse Laces has taught me a lot about football, but even more about life in general - kindness, hard work, friendship.  You've made something amazing."

FOOTBALL STARTS BACK

WEDS SEPT 6th

ABOUT

We are a community girls' football club based in Tower Hamlets in East London.

Limehouse Laces was started by two local Mum's frustrated that there was nowhere for their secondary school age daughters to play football.  Starting with 9 girls in 2013 we now have over 130 women and girls playing regular football.

We are committed to proving that football is a game for women and girls and that we should be involved in every aspect of the game.  Our club is run by women, and we have trained 25 FA Level 1 female Coaches, two FA Level 2 female coaches.

Developing girls as individuals and players is at the centre of what we do.

Winning is nice, but it's not really what we are about.

We want every girl to have the opportunity to benefit from what we provide.  We have no trials, offer sponsored places and run female only sessions so everyone can get involved.  We don't think ability is fixed.  With time, effort and opportunity, everyone can improve.  We also believe that football skills are life skills.  We have high expectations of our girls because we know that qualities and values such as commitment, resilience, control and respect that they learn on the football field, will help them succeed in life.

What our players and parents say

"Limehouse Laces isn't just a football club - it's a football family" - Hannah

"Joining Limehouse Laces has been the most enjoyable extra-curricular activity Lucy has undertaken, and probably the most valuable. Seeing her charge around the football pitch with a big smile on her face every Saturday fills us with joy. " Lucy's parents

"I've taken away so much more than football skills.  I've made lifelong friends and learned life lessons like the importance of teamwork, dedication and persistence.  Limehouse Laces is such a special place for me. " Kirsty

"Limehouse Laces has taught me a lot about football, but even more about life in general - kindness, hard work, friendship.  You've made something amazing." Beattie
